Description :
The development of the Incheon Strategy “Make the Right Real” for persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific was derived from the experiences, through the implementation of two consecutive Asian and Pacific Decades of Disabled Persons, 1993-2002 and 2003-2012 as well as the historic adoption by the General Assembly, in 2006, of the “United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” (UNCRPD).
Objectives of the Workshop:
To comprehend implementation of the Incheon Strategies in Indian Context specifically for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
To update and dessiminate information on effective means, modalities, resources for convergence of services to achieve the Incheon Strategy goals in Indian context.
Outcome of the Workshop:
Updating participants of the conference on:
i) Implementing Incheon Strategies on Indian context through convergence across related Government Departments.
ii) Generating knowledge for professional excellence towards rehabilitation and inclusion of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
